"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  Acts 1:8

Jesus called us, his followers, to “go and make disciples of all nations."  What a privilege! What a responsibility!  But he has not asked us to do it alone.  He promises that He is with us, and that we will receive power from His Holy Spirit to take the good news of the gospel to people in all nations.

So what is our part?  At Christ’s Church we want to be a church on a mission to impact our world for Jesus Christ.  We want to be on a mission here in Roswell and out into the world in ever-widening circles.  But it all starts in our own hearts and our own personal relationship with our Lord and Savior.  Through Him, all things are possible (Philippians 4:13).  Apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

As a church body, we pursue lives of missions in many ways:

Daily Lifestyle - We are all called to be Christ’s ambassadors in our daily lives.  We listen to His Word and His Spirit, and we strive to live like Christ every day of our life in every area of our life.

Local Outreach -  God has asked His people to help provide food, shelter, and clothes with those in need, and visit the sick and imprisoned (Isaiah 58, Matthew 25).  We strive to show love to our neighbor with our benevolence financial assistance, grocery distributions, free clothes and furniture giveaways, free cookouts, supporting local homeless shelters, visiting the detention center weekly, frequent home visits to those need, and always sharing God's Word and praying for anyone anytime.

Short-term Missions - We send teams from our church to do one to two week special mission assignments. In 2010, our senior high youth will serve in Costa Rica and our junior high will serve at a Native American reservation in New Mexico.  Past destinations have included Mexico, Haiti, Romania, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Belize, Thailand and the Dominican Republic.

Missionary Support - We support full-time missionaries financially.  We partner with missionaries and mission agencies locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, supporting those who are sharing the gospel and bringing physical help to those in need.
